BOARD OF SELECTMEN

MINUTES OF MEETING

August 28, 2003

 

Present:          Chuck Graybill

                        Steve Kennedy                       

                        Janice VandeBogart, Town Administrator

 

7:10 p.m.__Steve motioned to open the meeting to attend to the agenda at hand.  Chuck seconded the motion.  The motion carried.

Tim Terragni, re:  Old Whipple Road ownership

A brief history of this private way took place and Tim stated that the owner of Map B463 lot does not own Old Whipple Road. Steve suggested that Tim use the road now and then.

 

7:15 p.m.  Other Business:

Janice mentioned that Jan VandeBogart would like to install guard rails on Kimball Pond Road, across from the boat ramp, for safety reasons.

 

7:20 p.m., Dan Gobin, re:  cemetery upkeep and minutes correction

Dan mentioned that the cemetery by the Bow town line looks great and well kept, which is a stark improvement. 

 

He brought to the Board's attention that the Board cannot accept Steve's testimony at the 8/14 meeting because there was not a quorum.    Consequently:

 

Steve motioned that the minutes of 8/14/03 reflect a change in the wording regarding the acceptance of sworn testimony of Stepehn Kennedy and to delete the mention of acceptance by the Board.  Chuck seconded the motion. The motion carried.

 

7:25 p.m.  Other Business:

Janice informed the Board that Brian Hardwick and Rocko DiPietro came in with $15,000 in cash for the Town Forest Committee.  Janice called Steve Duggan, who advised her to decline to accept it, which she did (see attached).

 

Janice mentioned that she received a deed on Jay Drive.  Chuck suggested she have Ken take a look at it.

 

Janice mentioned that the bond of $8,000 on the Marcou property has not been submitted.  This was required at a 11/14/02 meeting.  She will check on the receipt of another requirement:  the warranty deed.

 

7:45 p.m.  Ron Slocum, re:  question on road acceptance

Ron asked why the Board was doing a walk through after the road has been accepted. Steve indicated that there may have been a Building Dept. error, in which an occupancy permit was given out without have accepted the road.

 

8:15 p.m., Chuck motioned to adjourn the meeting.   Steve seconded the motion to adjourn.  The motion carried.
