BOARD OF SELECTMEN

May 17, 2001

 

Present:  J.R. Swindlehurst, Chair

                Chuck Graybill

                 Les Hammond

                                Janice Van de Bogart, Town Administrator

 

6:30 p.m.  Bryon Kenny and David Foster, of Marin Environmental - presentation of digital tax mapping proposal.  Mr. Foster discussed the background of the company.  A discussion ensued regarding the procedure and requirements to be followed for the mapping project.  Mr. Kenny demonstrated samples of digital maps the company has prepared for other towns.

 

7:25 p.m. Rick and Carrie Letellier -  discussed the upgrade of their driveway and road as required at a Planning Board hearing.  The Letelliers were seeking recommendations on whether they could proceed with the construction of their home.  The Board indicated that they would need to bring the road up to town standards, up to their driveway, but that they could continue to build with the understanding that they will not receive their certificate of occupancy until the requirements are met.  The Letelliers were not informed of the status of the road when they bought the property.

 

7:40 p.m. Bruce Vaal - Building Inspector - came in to seek the Board's view on requiring a certified plot plan on parcels of land - the Board agreed to require it at the Building Inspector's discretion.

 

8:00 p.m. Mr.  Dollard of Dollard Mapping came in to discuss his mapping proposal.  Mr. Dollard demonstrated samples of his work he has done for other towns.  A discussion ensued regarding the cost estimate.  Mr. Dollard offered to drop the price by $1 per parcel to $14 per parcel.  The offer was subsequently rejected.

 

9:10 p.m. Tim Terragni - came in to inquire on the status of Old Whipple Rd.   Chuck and Les indicated that it is a private way.  A discussion ensued about the proper owners of the Neer property.

 

9:20 p.m.  Tax Mapping discussion by the Board.  Les motioned, which was seconded by J.R., to accept

Dollard & Associates proposal for tax mapping, at $15 per parcel, or a total of $20,630, versus Marin's proposal of $22,221. 

 

9:30 p.m.  Chuck made a motion,which was seconded by Les, to adjourn the meeting.
