The Selectmen meet with the Road Agent, Jan VandeBogart, to discuss road projects.

The group conducted their meeting by visiting various areas of town to inspect roads, culverts, etc.  The following is a list of areas visited:

·         Twist Hill Road: to inspect culvert work to be done

·         County Road:  to inspect wet areas that need work

·         Robert Rogers Road:  discussed trees needed to be taken down and road construction (see below)

·         Gorham Pond Area:  inspected Karen Rd., Gary Rd., Stephanie Rd., and Holiday Shore Drive.

Road striping was discussed and it was decided not to stripe the roads this year.  The money budgeted for striping ($6000) will be moved to the tree cutting line.  Various trees on Robert Rogers Road will be cut.  J.R. Swindlehurst stated that he would contact property owners on Robert Rogers Road where trees are located to advise them that the Board of Selectmen have authorized the cutting of the trees and they will be glad to meet with them at any time to discuss their concerns, by phone or in person.    Also, Robert Rogers Road will undergo repairs during the summer starting above County Road to the Michaud residence.  The road will be dug up for re-construction.  If money allows, Robert Rogers Road near the power line will also be done.

Les Hammond stated that he would contact Eric Hodgman regarding the removal of a mound of dirt on the corner of  Robert Rogers Road and Rangeway Road to improve visibility.

The meeting was adjourned at 6:30  p.m.
