TOWN OF DUNBARTON BOARD OF SELECTMEN April 19, 2001 Present: J.R. Swindlehurst, Chair Chuck Graybill Janice VandeBogart, Town Administrator 7:00 pm 7:30 pm School Board -- Jeff Trexler, John Herlihy, Chuck Gaides, Ken Swayze, Mike Lessard -- Use/maintenance of the school grounds and community center. Jeff Trexler discussed the School Facilities Policy, as it relates to plowing, the gym floor, the playground, and capital improvements. A discussion ensued about the current scheduling situation for the community center, which has been increasing recently. The Boards divided up the responsibilities between the Town and the School. In general, the interior of the community center is the school’s responsibility, while the grounds upkeep is the Town’s responsibility. However, some costs shall be shared between the Town and the school. For instance, the cost of the maintenance of the gym floor will be shared between the Recreation Commission and the school. Chuck Graybill suggested that the Town give a set amount of money annually to cover the Town’s share of incidental costs. Chief Nelson discussed the required police presence at private functions. As far as scheduling goes, the School has priority, and Janice VandeBogart will handle the scheduling. Jeff will comprise a complete list of the responsibilities for both the Town and the School. Jeff Trexler discussed the current town office building and what is the best use of it. Chuck Gaides’ idea is to move the front two sections to the current school location. The Town Office/Town Hall Renovation Committee has been changed to Mon., 5/14th.
8:40 p.m. Jeff Nelson—discussed increasing the Dept. secretary’s hours to 20. He is going to establish 6-7 patrols on weekends, all within budget. He received the application for accreditation. 8:43 p.m. Chuck made a motion to adjourn, which was seconded by J.R. _____________________________________ John R.
