TOWN OF DUNBARTON BOARD OF SELECTMEN MINUTES OF MEETING January 25, 2001 Present: Merton Mann, Chair Chuck Graybill J.R. Swindlehurst Janice Jelley, Town Administrator 7:00 Nonpublic session 7:20 Budget - Personnel Salaries - Linda Peters salary request of a $1,200 salary increase and a $1,200 fee increase was denied. Brian Littles salary increase request to $15/hour, from $10.50/hour is denied, but he will be entitled to increase his hours from 18 to 20. An increase to $11.50/hour is approved. Police Chief contract discussion concerning 30 day written notice requirement of intent to terminate employment. Discussion ensued regarding the clause in the contract to provide adequate coverage while he js out sick. Nonpublic session ended at 7:50. 8:10 Police Chief contract discussion and editing. The search committee has concluded its assignment, after collecting and reviewing resumes. The search committee has recommended to the Board of Selectmen the hiring of Jeff Nelson of Dunbarton, currently a Sergeant with the Goffstown Police Dept. J.R motioned to accept the committees recommendation, seconded by Chuck. Mr. Nelson has accepted the position. Mert mentioned the members of the search committee, which included Chuck Graybill, , J..R Swindlehurst, Dave Heisler (former Police Chief of Rumney and Dunbarton resident), Joe Milioto (acting Police Chief of Dunbarton), Tom Maille, (Detective with the Bedford Police Dept. and Dunbarton resident). Mert then thanked his fellow selectmen for doing a good job in a timely fashion. 8:20 Budget discussions. - Janice indicated that the town offices need 2 printers, 1 for the town clerk and 1 for the town office. Line items discussed included an adjustment to the Board of Assessors, legal fees, building repairs, cemeteries, fire, building inspection, welfare, library, and conservation commission and taxes. 8:50 Chuck motioned, seconded by J.R. to go into nonpublic session to discuss personnel matters. Jeff Nelson, new Police Chief reviewed his contract with the Board, making suggestions for changes relating to termination of the contract, which were accepted by the Board.
