1This isn't quite true -- the part about Dunbarton being too small to have it's own Post Office. It used to have one. The first Post Office established in Dunbarton was at the Center during 1817. The Center Post Office was closed on September 30, 1902, at which time it became a sub-station of the Concord Post Office until it finally closed in 1969. Since that time mail was delivered from both the Concord and Goffstown post offices, meaning that two zip codes served different parts of Dunbarton. Around 1991 all mail for Dunbarton was processed by the Goffstown Post Office, and a single zip code was also adopted: a postal address can now contain the line "Dunbarton, NH 03045". (However, as per the Update above, the address should now be "Dunbarton, NH 03046".)
