The Dunbarton Historical Awareness Committee has two primary charges by the Town of Dunbarton:

  • To identify and document historic buildings and sites throughout the town.
  • To provide historical education materials for the Elementary School.

New members to the Committee are welcome. If you would like to help on special projects, such as painting historical plaques, we would be grateful.

The committee meets on the fourth Monday of each month, at 6:30 p.m., at the Town Office building.

There are five historical tours of Dunbarton, researched and published by the Committee. These have recently been updated, and are available at the Dunbarton Library, at the Town Clerk's office, or from a Committee member. Tours are of the four districts of the Town, with a special bike tour edition for children. Each tour includes a map and brief description of all the historical sites in the district.
