OLD BUSINESS:

Milfoil control for Gorham Pond

Landowners from the Gorham Pond area met with the commission to discuss the bids for milfoil treatment obtained by Brett St. Clair.  Brett received two bids but suggested the town work to contract Aquatic Control Technology, Inc.  Their bid was the lower of the two but would require that a number of tasks be completed by townspeople.  Gorham Pond residents present at the meeting were willing to assume these tasks which would include securing “releases”, posting signs, etc.  Aquatic Technology, Inc. would treat the entire infected area (approximately 55 acres) for $11,625.00.

Brett assured those present that he will attempt to secure some state funding and will draft a warrant article to fund milfoil control at Gorham Pond this summer.

Status of local projects/Wetland Bureau updates

Stich (Long Pond Road) – Larry Cook signed off on the application based on the observation that the wetland crossing chosen has the least impact

NEW BUSINESS:

Chan sub-division on Gile Hill Road

Jacques Belanger was present to discuss a new sub-division plan for Gile Hill Road, one of the town’s scenic roads.  Upgrades to the road could affect its scenic qualities.  Commission members agreed to walk the road based on concerns with preserving its trees and stone walls.  (See upcoming events below)
