CONSERVATION COMMISSION MEETING

OLD BUSINESS:

 

Development plans for local golf course

 

Don Lane of the Watch Hill Development Group met with the commission to share changes made to the plan as a result of meetings with the Zoning Board of Adjustment.

 

Status of gravel pit (Kimball Pond Road)

 

Ron Jarvis has conveyed to the Selectmen the commission’s recommendation that Bob Lee’s bid be accepted.

 

Status of local projects/Wetland Bureau updates

 

Keefe subdivision (RT. 77) – road has not yet been accepted by the Town

Fraser subdivision (Tenney Hill Road) – DES compliance specialist, William Thomas has sent a letter to Mr. Fraser asking that he hire a certified wetland scientist to address the wetland issues identified on the property

 

NEW BUSINESS:

 

Member’s terms expiring in 2004

 

Since George Holt, Ron Jarvis, and Margaret Watkins wish to continue to serve on the commission, Chairman Larry Cook will ask that each be reappointed.  Jacques Belanger no longer wishes to serve as an alternate.  Brett St. Clair volunteered to draft a press release expressing the commission’s desire to find one or more residents to serve as alternates.

 

Annexation opportunities

 

The town has acquired several lots due to unpaid property taxes.  George Holt will ask that the parcels adjacent to the Kimball Pond Conservation Area and the Kuncanowet Natural Area be annexed to them.
